Koh Mak for children
Koh Mak is a reliable, comfortable and safe for the children. There is plenty of swimming pools in the island and open space to play. The beaches are wide and usually almost empty. There is no water or amusement parks around but great clean and quiet nature to explore and many friendly people. Older children can join to canoeing trips, swim with snorkel or play football or other games on the grass or at the island’s (only) football field. If the vegetarian food start to feel tasteless, there is many great restaurants with Western and Asian menu’s. They won’t get bored! Baby cots available from the resort (please ask them before the retreat) and high chairs available at the dining area.
Children/kids yoga practice: One or two separate classes per week for the children after the adult’s morning classes. Five children/class required. Ages 3-11, 10 €/class. These classes will be paid in cash or to the account after the retreat (once we know how many classes there has been). The times of the classes will be fixed with the parents at the island.
Teenagers yoga practice: Ages 12-15, 15 €/day (includes all Basic daily-scheduled classes). Teenagers can attend the beginners’ classes at the beginning of the week (if needed), and then join in the Mysore classes later on in the week.
Age 16+ are considered as adults.
Please inform us about your children and/or teenagers’ attendance, and we will determine the price for the week.
Information for families and non-yogi friends:
We can accommodate family members or friends who do not practice yoga only if we will have space at the resort. If the retreat is fully booked, the extra beds are available, meaning two members who practice yoga and one non-yogi on the extra bed. All our 24 bungalows/ houses are reserved for people who will be participating in the yoga program. The rooms are quite small for three adults, so we recommend to check the other resort on the island. There is plenty of other resorts in the island and the distances are short. It will be easy to stay with non-yogi friends in the other resort and join to the Drop In yoga program at Koh Mak Resort. Then yoga can be paid as a separate payment in Drop In way (check prices for Drop in). Minimum attendance for Drop-in yoga is three days. Please let us know if you have non-yogi family member or friend who would like to stay with us on the Extra bed.
